Lia Leendertz writes regularly on food and gardening for The Telegraph, the Guardian, The Simple Things and other publications and was shortlisted as Cookery Writer of the Year in this year’s Guild of Food Writers’ Awards. She lives in Bristol with her husband and two children and has a garden and an allotment.
Lia will talk about the food, festivities and traditions of autumn, bringing to life her new book The Almanac: a seasonal guide to 2018. This is an annual publication which revives the tradition of the rural almanac, connecting readers with the coming months and seasons via moon-gazing, foraging, feast days, seasonal eating, meteor-spotting and gardening. The book shares the tools and inspiration you need to celebrate, mark and appreciate each moment of the year, including monthly moon phase tables, sunrise and sunset times, the sky at night, constellation of the month, recipes, essays on festivities, and more.
