We are very excited to be working with Bristol City Council to help reinstate the weekly farmers market on Corn St as a highlight of Bristol’s weekly calendar; where people come to shop, socialise and meet the people who make and grow their food.
The market will relaunch on 7th June, with the new name of Bristol Farmers’ and Producers’ Market, to reflect the diverse produce that will be on offer. New traders have already been recruited and there is room for more. The selection criteria have been adjusted to take taste and quality into consideration, as well as provenance and sustainability.
New opening hours will be from 8am until 2.30pm, giving customers plenty of opportunity to stock up before work or during their lunch break. Alongside the wonderful fishmongers, butchers, greengrocers and cheese mongers will be local producers selling breakfast pastries for commuters on their way to work, freshly made pasta and sauces and other locally made nutritious convenience foods, catering for busy lives.
There will be plenty of entertainment too, with live music and food demonstrations from Bristol food hero Barny Haughton on the first Wednesday of every month, as well as children’s activities during the summer holidays.
